FREE beginners' lessons will be starting at 2:30 p.m. for those members of Olivia's Slimming World group in South Wigston over the next four weeks as a special initiative to kick start the launch of the Ministry of Nordic Walks community program in the area. The first lesson will begin on Monday 23rd May so if you want to take part and are a Slimming World member please contact me to book your place. The sessions are suitable for all ages and abilities and will last for approximately an hour before returning to Tigers Road so that members can attend their weigh-in on time.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions and remember you will need a pair of trainers and suitable outdoor clothing to take part. Nordic walking poles will be provided for the sessions.

I love how you have embraced this sport and are now trying to start and teach free groups in your area. I wish I lived closer because I would definitely participate! Thanks to your post, you have inspired me to take up this sport. I had not heard of it until you mentioned it. However, when I looked it up, there are very active groups in the area I am currently living in: Seattle, Washington State, and the area I am moving to in June, Colorado. Walking is my favorite form of exercise so if I can get more out of it, that sounds like a good deal to me. I have hiking poles, but they are not nordic walking poles, so I am not sure how much of a difference that makes. But I can try with those and get the real deal once I move down there.

Excellent news, Jannike and Nordic walking in Colorado will be spectacular! You must send a link so we can see the views :) The main difference in the poles is the glove strap that allows the Nordic walker to push behind creating a fluid movement which lengthens the stride and the arm movement giving the 90% all body work-out. I know you are going to love it and wish you all the very best for your upcoming move. Thank you so much for leaving a comment :)
