November is the perfect time to begin exercising in time for Christmas! Get out and about and enjoy yourself whatever the weather. I am trying to expand sessions to give as many people as possible the chance to become a member of a Nordic walking group here at Ministry Of Nordic Walks but I need your input. Where and when? Please let me know by leaving a comment below or messaging via e-mail or my facebook page which can all be accessed at the top of this page.
Please remember that you will need to BOOK a place on any of the above walks to ensure there are Nordic walking poles available to you and that the walk is scheduled for that week as sometimes walks and times may vary. Hoping to see even more faces in the coming month! If you want to read more about what Nordic walking can do for you this autumn have a look at my blog page? It's all about the happiness of hygge! Getting out and about and enjoying those odd days of sunshine, before the dark days of winter set in, is really important at this time of year. Luckily, Nordic walking is an activity that keeps going all year long and we have been making the most of these first days of autumn by adding a few new routes and places of interest around South Wigston and beyond.
Remember you can always call to suggest other walks and dates for the calendar and with our regular walks at only £2 per session there really is no excuse for you not to be getting active this October. Please remember it is important to book your place if you are a new walker to any of the groups to ensure we have the correct pole size available to you. Ministry of Nordic Walks is pleased to announce that there will be a new beginner group starting towards the end of September on the Fairfield Estate on Monday afternoons. Anyone interested in attending please fill in a booking form on this site or email [email protected]. If you would like to find out more abut any of the sessions on offer please contact me on 07502 576764.
The cost of beginner group lessons and for Nordic walking groups will be £2 per session Anyone is welcome to join any of our existing groups. Ministry of Nordic Walks will be offering new beginner classes in South Wigston as well as branching out into Oadby during July to offer taster sessions at Knighton Park due to the response from the Oadby and Wigston Postbox article in June.
Residents from South Wigston can benefit from the grant given by The Conservation Volunteers to take part for free whilst there is a subsidised charge of £2 per session for all other residents. Please note that ALL dates start from the second week in July Monday 11th onwards. There are currently two opportunities to begin Nordic walking with Ministry of Nordic Walks during June this year. FREE beginners' lessons will be starting at 2:30 p.m. for those members of Olivia's Slimming World group in South Wigston over the next four weeks as a special initiative to kick start the launch of the Ministry of Nordic Walks community program in the area. The first lesson will begin on Monday 23rd May so if you want to take part and are a Slimming World member please contact me to book your place. The sessions are suitable for all ages and abilities and will last for approximately an hour before returning to Tigers Road so that members can attend their weigh-in on time.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions and remember you will need a pair of trainers and suitable outdoor clothing to take part. Nordic walking poles will be provided for the sessions. Flyers are now being delivered to selected streets in South Wigston promoting the website and contact number to book places on future group sessions. Up coming events will also be on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Ministry-of-Nordic-Walks-988840907820464/ There are many benefits that Nordic walking can achieve for you, whatever your age or fitness ability, so if you haven't had a flyer delivered and would like to pick one up to get your first group session FREE then pop in to the Bassett Street Community Hub and ask for one there. |
